Back to nature

There is no electricity at Adhurst. It’s about glamping for purists.

Glamping in the south of England

Dry compost privies and firewood from the woodlands on the Estate.

Six yurts and a rustic cabin in a hundred acres of ancient woodland within the 450-acre Victorian estate in the South Downs National Park. Set high above the banks of the River Rother and well away from any roads the perfect retreat for children, dogs and families needing a recharge.

Each has a campfire area with inside wood-burners and a safari kitchen equipped with gas hob and BBQ. Some have a private bath or shower and some their own privy. Firebowls, cast iron cookware, crockery and glassware are all provided.

Courses including fly-fishing, fire-building, birdwatching and basketry with a variety of outdoor skills instructors can be arranged. They also organise wild food days – cook what you find. Just ask. It’s all bespoke, Adhurst provides stylish, healthy and ecologically-conscious holidays for everyone not just nature enthusiasts.
